چکیده
The use of virtual reality (VR) technology is growing in the current era COVID-19 pandemic. However, VR causing problems for its users. Some symptoms, such as nausea, headache, and eye strain, are felt after using VR. These symptoms called sickness. This study used electroencephalography (EEG) to record participants' brain activity changes when experiencing Participants given impressions via screens head-mounted displays (HMD). In addition, subject also filled out a simulator sickness questionnaire (SSQ) before being Brain waves alpha frequency range (8 Hz-13 Hz) low beta (13 Hz-21 were analyzed through power spectral density (PSD). From SSQ results, participants who saw screen experienced increased nausea symptoms. On other hand, HMD an increase oculomotor (p<0.05). Based on analysis, wave PSD obtained frontal, central, parietal regions. There was shift value peak from average shifts significant value. Therefore, it concluded that viewing more than form results.

Using virtual reality driving simulators in persons with spinal cord injury: three screen display versus head mounted display.
PURPOSE Virtual reality (VR) is a relatively new technology that is currently utilized in a wide variety of settings to test and train individuals in specialized skills. This study examines methods for improving driver retraining protocols for persons with spinal cord injury (SCI). METHOD We compared a VR driving simulator, under two different display conditions, a head mounted display (HMD) ...
متن کاملLatency Compensation for Head-Mounted Virtual Reality
Latency greatly degrades the usability of head-mounted virtual reality systems. This paper discusses consequences of latency, examines sources of latency, investigates techniques to reduce latency, and proposes to integrate existing solutions into a system that approximates zero latency for the most critical types of errors. First, effects of latency are examined such as degraded user experienc...
متن کاملText Entry in Immersive Head-Mounted Display-based Virtual Reality using Standard Keyboards
We study the performance and user experience of two popular mainstream text entry devices, desktop keyboards and touchscreen keyboards, for use in Virtual Reality (VR) applications. We discuss the limitations arising from limited visual feedback, and examine the efficiency of different strategies of use. We analyze a total of 24 hours of typing data in VR from 24 participants and find that novi...
متن کاملDiminishing Head-Mounted Display for Shared Mixed Reality
We propose a new scheme to recover the eye-contact between multiple users in a Shared Mixed-Reality Space. The eye-contact in a shared mixed-reality space is lost as the side effect of wearing head-mounted displays. We synthesize facial images in real-time with arbitrary poses and eye expressions by using several photographs of the user. The face images are overlaid in order to diminish the HMD...
متن کاملThe development of a symptom questionnaire for assessing virtual reality viewing using a head-mounted display.
PURPOSE Virtual reality devices, including virtual reality head-mounted displays, are becoming increasingly accessible to the general public as technological advances lead to reduced costs. However, there are numerous reports that adverse effects such as ocular discomfort and headache are associated with these devices. To investigate these adverse effects, questionnaires that have been specific...
